In the dead of the night
shadows lurk in fear of the light…..
one that shines like a beacon into the skies.
All but one fears his whispered name……
He of painted faces and mad smile fame……
The notion of a flawed hero has always been interesting but reading the psychological mindmaps of a raving psychopath is even more meaningful.Finding out what drives a perfectly normal person to have a complete personality switch to become a wacked out nutcase is most exciting. We are not even talking about super-powered villains who can destroy an entire shopping mall with just one blast from their palms…… That just seems so simple….and boring……
That is why the batman comic series seems a pretty good option and down to earth. Gotham City is a place of striving lunatics trapped in a concrete jungle that spells prosperity and gloom.
The world cries out for a hero…a superhero we can depend on in times of need and super-powered demi-gods are for comic books. The Average Joe out there who was spurned by his gal runs away from camp with a rifle…… human enough but for means more significant than a grain of sand on a beach….. we are not even talking about terrorists who thought that they are saving the worlds but are just misguided and manupilated souls made to slave for a mad man’s attempt to take over the world. Heroes do exists in this world… in a much smaller scale…… and we do not need a supernation trying to play police to the world……
For now….. the Clown Prince will rule the screens with his painted face and his grass green hair…… and at least make more sense bringing down a city block with explosives to get back at someone who caused him to become a freak of nature……

We are men without Roots.
We go where the wind blows and where the wind blows we go.
Welcome to the Little Red Dot known as Singapore!!!
Easy comes, easy goes as the saying goes……. With an active population of around 4 million, the country looks like it is a striving community that has grown from a kampung into one of the world’s richest nations and we will have to thank the Imperial Family for their grace and righteous rule. Not bad for a small Malay fishing Village that some Sumatran Prince stumbled on and decided to build his empire on while he was on a hunting trip.
About six hundred years later, the Kingdom has changed hands and the decreed Dragon family have descended from the Heavens to guide us to greater glory…… but why, oh why are the local inhabitants fleeing the port? A free one at that……..
Definition of Port: A facility for recieving ships and transfering cargo. A “port of call” is an intermediate stop, for example to collect supplies or fuel. In other words, people come and go. It is a pit stop so nobody ever stays for long. They come in, get what they need ( in modern context, it is no longer about spices, coffee and rubber any more.) and than off they go again. It is all about the financial gains that can be made from the country. Why do you think the Expats are here in the first place? Definitely not for the love of local cuisine and the ever so wet and humid weather.
The local system has also breed a new generation of lalangs. A breed with next to little opinion, very little guts to speak out against authority and quits when they have the chance and go where the winds of opportunity blows them.
When a soldier is fighting a war and his Sergant calls him a deserter…. do you think he will have the mood to win the battle? Most will just turn around and put a few bullets into his soon to be limb body. Statistics do show that in a War, you are more likely to be killed in ” Friendly Fire” . Of the 62 American soldiers killed in action, one report claims that 10 may have died as a result of friendly fire.
With the prices of fuel, food,GST,ERP gantries even on the rise……. can you blame anyone if they decide to just throw in the towel and go somewhere where the living standards are not as high and have a simpler life? Quality of life is not about the number of cars you own or the size of your house….. it is about how you lead your life.
